  18. In this segment we will discuss time spans rather loosely.  For example, we will talk about retransmitting after a ‚Äúbrief wait.‚Äù  Throughout the segment these times will refer to ‚Äúcomputer times,‚Äù which is to say on the order of millionths or thousandths of a second.
